Donna Summer- MacArthur Park Decomposition

Episode Summary

This week Moxie LaBouche, host of the "Your Brain On Facts," podcast helps us decompose the 1978 hit by Donna Summer "MacArthur Park."

Episode Notes

It is frequently considered one of the worst songs of all time. And yet we, as a people, shot this song up onto the charts 5 times since its composition in 1968. The most popular of which was released by Donna Summer as a 17 minute-long suite. We should be ashamed.
Cake melting? Rivers in the sky? Chinese checkers? Somehow it has won two Grammy's.
This is pseudo-surrealism without the benefit of being written by someone who has used drugs.

Moxie stays on-brand and drops a ton of fun tidbits.
